Answers

Why is INFINI the right boudoir photographer for you?

You can tell by our images that our quality of photography is simply better — more magazine-like, more spectacular, more alluring, more elegant, more fun.  In part, its because we know how to bring out the best in each individual.  With our professional hairstyle and make up, our individualized lighting, our posing guidance, and just a little digital retouch, we make you look like you on your best day.

Do I have to be nude?

No, you can wear as much or as little as you like. Our intent is to make you look as beautiful as possible regardless of what you have on or don’t. Beauty is in the feminine spirit!

Do you have female artistic photographers?

The short answer is no, Dario is the only artistic photographer. Custom photography by nature is the hiring of unique artistic vision and the individual eye. What and how Dario shoots is not easily imparted to other photographers.

Moreover when considering the gender of your artistic photographer, also consider who the final viewer of your photos is. There are many wonderful female photographers of course, however a masculine eye is going to tend to see and capture the female form the way a masculine eye appreciates. Do you provide the wardrobe?

We do have a select choice of items as well as luxurious fabrics to drape on and around you. You’re encouraged to bring 4-8 outfits of your own to use during your session. We’ll help pick out the outfits that provide the most variety and are most flattering to you. Other things to bring — shoes, jewelry, props of interest to you or your intended recipient (sports gear, jerseys, musical instruments, motorcycles!, etc). We want your photos to be like no one else’s!

Are my pictures safe? What happens to them?

Absolutely. Our business relies and operates on trust. We understand your concern and we treat you and your photos with the highest regard for privacy and security. Read more about this important issue on our blog discussing copyright law and how INFINI Boudoir is different from many other photographers in this regard.

I’m nervous about doing this.

Many clients can be. The shyness in front of others and the studio lights can be intimidating. We find that most clients relax within the first 30-40 minutes and find their “rhythm” in posing. And we keep it light. It is supposed to be a fun, light atmosphere. We will have music and there will be laughing and having a great time. Once the first great shots start happening, we will show you a couple of samples as we go and your confidence and enthusiasm will skyrocket. So relax.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course! In fact, if your friend signs up for a session of her own we’ll make it worth your while by giving you both special discounts. We do find that some people do better with a friend present; it helps calm their nerves. On the other hand, these images are intended to be dramatic and intense. The best images have a piercing look about them — the woman in the photograph is looking directly at you, into your soul. And it can be hard to achieve that focus and intensity with even more people in the studio to distract you. However if the alternative is a “deer in the headlights” look which does not photograph particularly well, your friend is more than welcome to attend and provide encouragement.

How many people are at the boudoir photoshoot?

Often two, Dario and a female hairstyle/make up artist. Sometimes an additional assistant to help manage the process. And any guest you choose to bring. We only offer private sessions so you don’t share shooting time with other clients. When we literally and figuratively focus on you, our attention is undivided making sure you get the best possible photos we can create.

Can I have a drink before I arrive?

Yes. One drink please, tipsy does not photograph well.

Do you only shoot beautiful women?

ALL women are beautiful!! And reality states that no one is perfect. Great photography is as much about what you show as what you don’t show. So through posing, make up, composition, lighting, and selected retouching, we will absolutely make you look beautiful. As beautiful as you were on the best day of your life.

I’m not a size 2/I’m 50 years old, can you make me look beautiful?

All women have an intrinsic beauty about them. As beauty specialists, we have extensive experience in coaxing out the best in you. With a 100% positive customer satisfaction record, we have full confidence that we WILL make you look beautiful. Read more about how we do this on our >boudoir blog<.

Do you shoot boudoir couples photography?

Yes we do, same rules apply except men generally don’t ask for eye shadow or lip gloss.

Do you shoot same sex couples?

Yes we do, exactly the way you want to be shot and with dignity and respect.

Do you help with posing?

Most of our clients benefit from guidance on how to pose and look into and away from the camera. Surprisingly, magazine poses that look carefree and easy often are painful and feel awkward. Not every pose works for everyone; if we try something that doesn’t flatter you, we’ll move on to something else. We want to make you look stunning. You will likely be sore after the session, but the results are well worth it.

Do you retouch the artistic photos?

Everything you have printed through us is retouched, including prints, canvases, albums, calendars, etc. The retouched images will be included on your CD. This is a costly, high quality, labor intensive process which yields spectacular results.

What can you do with your retouching?

We cover skin smoothing, subtle idealization of body form (so that you still look like you, only on your best day), blemish/wrinkle removal, enhancements as desired, etc. All our retouching is seamless.

When do I get my boudoir photos?

Turnaround time is very fast — generally no later than the day after your shoot, the images go up in a private directory for your review and selection. Prints and CDs arrive within one week of your selection. The CD will contain the retouched images you choose to have printed. Canvases arrive within about 10 days. Albums and wall portraits require about two weeks.

What can I do with the photos on my CD?

Your images provided on CD or USB are full resolution and fully licensed for your use for ANY purpose. You can print them out at your local photo store, post them on the internet, use them to start your modeling career!

What are your days and hours of operation?

Being a custom photography operation gives us great latitude in our hours; we are essentially “on call”. Wherever and whenever you want to shoot, we can make it happen.

How long does a session last?

A full day session can be up to 8 hours while a half day session is about 5 hours. Many clients are sore because the poses can often be challenging (though we take care not to make them painful — your comfort is important!).

Can you travel outside the city/can you shoot on location?

Yes, this is how we get some of our most spectacular shots. Images taken in natural surroundings are almost always more dramatic and compelling. If you are willing to tolerate sometimes awkward or adverse conditions, we are more than happy to accommodate you. Washington’s landscape affords many opportunities for getting great shots outdoors.

Do you do special requests, locations, ideas?

We are a flexible, customer oriented team. Being artists ourselves, we love when clients come to us in the spirit of artistic collaboration. Some have a vision to use a special vehicle (sports car, motorcycle, yacht, plane, etc), others who wish to shoot in the scenic landscape of the surrounding region.

Please contact us and tell us your vision. We would be delighted in working with you to bring that vision to reality.

How far out do you book?

Generally about 2-3 weeks in advance, shorter during the holiday season.

How do I set up a session?

You reserve your session slot by placing a non-refundable deposit through >this link<; you can add any special requests during the booking process and of course you can always follow up with us if you need further information or explanation.

What if I want to shoot really sexy photos?

You can shoot whatever you want. More information >here<.

Tell my wife to shoot “really sexy photos”?

It is outside our ethical bounds to direct the modesty level for our clients on their husbands’ behalf. We must defer to our female clients’ comfort level for any shoot. Please read >here< for more information, insight, and a humorous story on this issue.
